And you may be thinking, well why not just throw them away… Well if that was the option then we would have done that a long time ago. But for some unfathomable reason, we just can’t seem to let go of them.

1: Gardening

Yep, you read that right. Cardboard boxes are great for the outdoor garden space. Composting is one way you can use using it as a cover to soak up any excess water in any compost heap. It’s also a great defender against weeds. All you need to do is place layers of cardboard down in certain areas where weeds are common, and this will stop them from getting through.

Another great tip is to use a cardboard box for germinating seeds. Add a few seeds to a dampened cardboard piece and place underneath the soil to help the plants grow.

2: Home projects

Instead of buying floor covering for when you are doing any painting or wallpaper jobs in the house, why not lay down opened up cardboard boxes? It’s great for protecting your flooring!

3: Organisation

Cardboard boxes are ideal for storing all kinds of goods. And best of all, they are very easy to decorate to match your interior decor.

4: Kids play

There are endless things you can make with cardboard boxes for your kids once you get creative. From play cookers to decorative houses, there are many different options to choose from.

Plus you can involve the children to take part in creating their chosen toy. No more need to spend endless amounts of money on plastic toys!

If you’re not feeling as creative, then you can always choose to take your cardboard boxes to a local recycling bin centre. As cardboard is widely recycled, you’ll have no trouble getting rid of it.
